Outsourced CIO - Harold Poley
Harold Poley has over 21 years of experience in all facets
of business operations with industry leading companies
such as Bell-Northern Research, Litton Systems, Honeywell
and Kobold Instruments. Now primary Outsourced CIO for
Valueforge, Harold combines hands-on knowledge of research,
manufacturing, distribution, sales, marketing and information
technology, to provide balanced technology solutions to
small companies. A thorough understanding of good business
practices, as well as the needs of smaller businesses,
allows Harold to maximize his customers' technology investment.
By sitting down and planning technology roll-outs with
his clients' executive team, Harold has consistently produced
solutions that are reliable, on time, and priced below
the costs of a piece-meal approach to hardware, software
and service acquisition.
Hand-in-hand with his grasp of technology issues is a
strong understanding of project management principles,
allowing Harold to turn good ideas into real-life solutions.
Some of his achievements include: producing a website for
a multinational equipment manufacturer that now accounts
for 40% of its US profits; converting unstable networks
into reliable workhorses; and improving production and distribution
efficiencies at various companies throughout the United
States. Harold holds several patents related to the avionics
and semiconductor industries. He injects much needed common
sense into all the projects he undertakes, thereby helping
his customers avoid the dead-ends and flights-of fancy
that cause the costs of so many technology projects to
skyrocket. Harold received his Bachelor of Science in Physics
from the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Ontario,
Canada. For his business training he wishes to acknowledge
his excellent mentors at Litton Systems Canada, Honeywell
Incorporated, and Kobold Instruments Incorporated. In addition
to English, Harold is also conversant in German.
